Ram Iyer (India) is the founder of Xperts Consulting and a senior international development adviser with more than 36 years’ experience across the United Nations system and national governments. He specialises in governance, risk oversight, and operational reform in complex, high-risk environments.

He spent over two decades with UNDP, most recently as Management Advisor for the Asia-Pacific Bureau (2016–2024), where he advised senior management teams in the Bureau and 23 country offices on institutional performance, strategic risk, and internal controls. He managed a $70 million institutional budget, led business continuity planning across 24 offices, and established UNDP's first regional risk management team. He also served as Resident Representative ad-interim in Uzbekistan, Iran, and Samoa, including oversight of a multi-country office covering four nations.

His career took him to more than 50 countries across Africa, Latin America, Eastern Europe, Asia and the Pacific regions on missions and assignments, where he held lead roles at UN agencies, CGIAR institutions, and the Government of India. His expertise includes institutional governance and reform, crisis operations, blended finance, strategic sourcing, and programme governance.

Since he moved into consulting, Ram advises UN Agencies on multiple concurrent engagements spanning crisis response, blended finance, ESG investment design, risk assessments, and programme governance. He works directly with senior leadership to strengthen institutional performance, manage risk, and deliver measurable outcomes.

Ram holds a Master of Business Administration degree from the Maastricht School of Management and is certified in PRINCE2 and compliance frameworks.
