Bharat Manocha (India) is a senior advisor with over 35 years of experience in governance, risk management, and internal controls. His work spans both national and international systems, including roles with the Government of India, the United Nations, UNDP, WHO, the UN Compensation Commission, and the International Criminal Tribunal.
He has led independent reviews and advisory work in some of the UN’s most complex operating environments, including Afghanistan, Angola, the Central African Republic, East Timor, Ethiopia, Myanmar, North Korea, Sierra Leone, and Somalia, supporting peacekeeping, transitional governance, climate-related programming, and donor-funded operations. His reviews have focused on institutional effectiveness, fiduciary risk, and operational efficiency, often providing input into reform processes and strategic planning.
Bharat has worked closely with senior UN leadership, government counterparts, donors, and development partners. His work on programs financed by USAID, GFATM, and REDD+ has helped UNDP and others align accountability systems with real-world conditions. He offers specific expertise in performance audits, risk mitigation strategies, forensic reviews, and creating suitable structures in fragile and post-conflict settings.
In addition to systems-focused work, Bharat supports capacity building, team restructuring, and leadership development initiatives. He is a Certified Internal Auditor with an advanced degree in Business Administration and a BA (Honors) in Economics from the University of Delhi.
